Hey whos the new guy?

by Scott on February 1, 2010

Hi,  I’m Scott!   Welcome to my site.  I plan on traveling.  A lot.  For a long time.

When someone tells you they are going to travel or backpack Europe for a while you normally think they are young and just out of school or  independently wealthy.  They must have just sold a business or that they are going to ‘find themselves’.  Not in my case, for I am none of those.  I’m just a normal guy that wants to travel.

What’s’ coming up?

The plans for the next 100 days are to post every day.  This will get me in the habit of writing more (and hopefully better), since I’m not really a writer.  Although I do have a a couple stories outlined and several chapters written, I’m much more of an aspiring photographer/videographer.  But you can’t swing a cat in this category without hitting someone with those credentials.

So the writing is not going to be the greatest to start out with and the layout is going to change a bit, but it’s more about the journey and about making progress.  It’s about heading in the right direction.

Welcome to Heading That Way.

Awesome… Look forward to reading more.

Writing for 100 days straight might be tough, but if you can do it, you can probably do anything!

I think this is a great plan. My advice would be to keep the posts short, and on a single topic. This will allow you to get in the habit of posting to this new blog regularly. You might surprised to sit down some days and write much longer articles than you expected. It happens to me when I least expect it.

Also, you’ll start getting content indexed in the search engines more quickly, and getting traffic into the site, which is a great way to keep yourself motivated.

Thanks Dave. After the 100 days I plan on trying to get into regularly scheduled posts. Just like every Sunday you know Chris Gillebeau will post a review with no comments.
